T. Konstantin Rusch takes over from Michael Muehlebach on the CLS Steering Board

Effective September 1st, 2026, T. Konstantin Rusch joins the CLS Steering Board on behalf of the Max Planck side of the partnership, replacing Michael Muehlebach who has taken up a Full Professor position at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
Konstantin Rusch is a Principal Investigator (Assistant Professor) at the ELLIS Institute Tübingen and the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems, where he leads the Computational Applied Mathematics & AI Lab (CAMAIL). He joined CLS in 2024. The overall Board composition can be seen here. Welcome to the new role, Konstantin!
Michael Muehlebach joined CLS as a faculty member following his appointment as an independent Max Planck Group Leader at the MPI for Intelligent Systems in 2021. He has been leading the independent research group on Learning and Dynamical Systems at MPI-IS Tübingen since that date, supported by prestigious Branco Weiss and Emmy Noether Fellowships, and took up his position on the CLS Steering Board in May 2023. Since September 2026, Michael has taken up a new position as Full Professor of Machine Learning Foundations at the Institute for Statistics and Mathematics at WU (Vienna University of Economics and Business).
